AECB Kent Group – Insulation, Airtightness and Ventilation Event

Meeting of AECB Kent Group in Westgate Community Hall

This event was held at the recently refurbished Westgate Community Hall in Canterbury. This proved to be a convenient location and was a bright and airy building. Around 30 members and guests attended, ranging from home owners, architects, engineers, suppliers and builders.

Presentations were by:

  • PYC and Cuir, distributors and manufacturers of Warmcel cellulose insulation
  • Systemair mechanical ventilation systems
  • ProClima airtight and windtight systems from Ecological Building Systems

Cellulose insulation has long been a favourite in the green building arena and it was interesting to find out how it is made, installed and its properties in both winter and summer conditions and performance under fire tests.Speaker at event

MVHR is a key component in low energy buildings, but its efficiency is dependent on good design, installation and the right choice of ductwork and diffusers. Systemair’s units are now tested to the new Eurovent certification scheme.

Neither insulation or ventilation systems will work properly in a leaky building so ProClima offer a wide range of membranes and tapes for interior and exterior use as well as a new range of external waterproof tapes.
