Beattie Passive and Beattie Passive Norse – New Team Members

Beattie Passive and Beattie Passive Norse are delighted to welcome two new team members to join their team. Both team members will bring skills that will add value to the current team as it continue to grow to meet demand.

Gareth Cavill

Gareth Cavill has joined Beattie Passive as an Architectural Technologist from Parsons Whittley to provide design and detailing expertise and progress the company’s Architectural discipline.  Gareth’s extensive experience in the residential sector has seen him work with housing associations and developers to provide energy efficient homes for the last 7 years from Code for Sustainable Homes Level 2 to Level 4 standard through to Passivhaus.  Gareth has previous experience of working on Passivhaus projects, including a project for Hastoe Housing Association on their ‘Outwell’ Passivhaus scheme, consisting of 15 dwellings to be certified Passivhaus and Clapper Lane, near King’s Lynn in Norfolk, consisting of 2 units to be certified Passivhaus.  All dwellings for both projects are being built with timber frame methods.

Gareth’s knowledge of Revit and BIM systems will help develop BIM standards and company specific content to provide a holistic approach, improving material waste, cost control and better co-ordination between design team members and staff on site.

Benedict Binns

Benedict has joined Beattie Passive Norse – the joint initiative between the Norse group and Beattie Passive. With over 14 years’ experience in key business roles, Benedict has managed teams to deliver projects that have established new income streams. In the last four years at the Adapt Low Carbon Group at the University of East Anglia (UEA), Benedict developed and delivered consultancy on Passivhaus, BREEAM, renewable materials and embodied carbon working with clients, architects, contractors and construction professionals. He was part of the project team to deliver the design and build of The Enterprise Centre at the UEA. The project brief is to target Passivhaus and BREEAM Outstanding certification using renewable materials to achieve zero net emissions over the life time of the building from cradle to grave.

Benedict’s role at Beattie Passive Norse is to develop and grow the business and to manage the day to day operations of the company to ensure that the business meets client expectations. Beattie Passive Norse offers a Passivhaus solution that provides a robust and cost effective approach to low energy developments. Developing Passivhaus projects in housing, education and health care will be the key areas of focus.
