Meet the Trainers

Joke Brans

Joke trained as an Architect at Antwerp University and joined the Belgian Passivhaus specialist consultancy Passiefhuis-Platform vzw (PHP) immediately on graduation. She now divides her time between the architectural practice ‘Archi gen cvba’ and PHP and is a regular trainer in PHPP.


Sally Godber

Sally is a partner in Warm - Low Energy Building Consultancy. Sally started her career as a building services engineer specialising in renewable and low energy systems for a diverse range of sectors including historic, industrial and educational buildings. Since joining WARM Sally’s main focus has been on comfort, and how this can be achieved alongside improved energy performance. The Passivhaus methodology was an obvious partner in this aim, and Sally has since been involved in a number of houses, flats, offices and schools designed to the standard.


Paul Jennings

Paul has over 25 years experience in airtightness detailing at design stage, training on site staff, appointing and supporting airtightness champions, carrying out air leakage audits and air permeability testing.


Eric Parks

Eric Parks is an Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer who has specialised solely in the field of ecological design and sustainable construction in both the US and UK. He has experience in research, development and prototyping of sustainable building systems with CMPBS in Austin, Texas. In the UK, Eric’s architectural training and experience has taken place with two of the UK’s leading sustainable design specialists, Simmonds Mills: Architects.Builders and Eco Arc. Currently, Eric runs his own architecture practice and sustainable building consultancy.


Mark Siddall

Mark is an Architect and a Certified Passivhaus Designer. He is also the sustainability champion for Devereux Architects and has conducted detailed research into low and net-zero carbon technologies. In addition to being one of the practice’s lead designers, Mark also provides consultancy, project enabling and education for clients, design teams and constructors. Currently he working on one of the first major UK Passivhaus schemes (25 homes) and is providing consultation for the Riverside One Net-Zero Carbon development in Middlesbrough (a significant scheme for Bio-Regional Quintain).


John Trinick

John is a Passivhaus Engineer at WARM Low Energy Building Practice. John is currently working on several UK residential Passivhaus schemes and five of the first Passivhaus schools in the UK. John previously worked as a Sustainability Consultant for AECOM where he was involved in consultancy for both private developers and the Government, in the areas of energy strategy, policy modeling, technology feasibility and energy mapping.


Peter Warm

Peter Warm is a Chartered Energy Conservation Engineer with a strong interest in understanding how the building fabric works. His experience is varied between research and practical on-site work. Currently, Peter is a partner in Warm: Low Energy Building Practice with his daughter Sally Johns. Peter is accredited by the Passivhaus Institut in Darmstadt to provide certification, and consultancy for Passivhaus schemes. Currently, he is providing consultation on new build schemes including St. Ive Rural Passivhaus- 20 houses for a local Housing Association, and several Passivhaus retrofit projects.
