Development and Communications Manager
Full time: we expect the successful applicant to dedicate most of their working week to the role, and we have assumed the position is most likely suited a full time job. However, for the right person with particularly effective delivery skills we may be prepared to consider part time working.
£25,000 per annum, pro rata
The AECB is a not for profit organisation developing and promoting the understanding and skills needed to create healthy, comfortable, energy efficient buildings and infrastructure that aim to minimise environmental impact. The AECB is the largest and oldest green building organisation in the UK.
We are looking for a dynamic new member for our existing small team – one who is passionate about our social and natural environment. Following an agreed Action Plan and working closely with CEO, Staff and members you will;
- Work as part of the team to ensure effective delivery of projects
- Drive an increase in retained and new membership
- Co-ordinate marketing the AECB to an ever wider audience.
You will be responsible for; internal and external communications; developing and implementing media strategy; working with the staff and Board/Trustees in developing the AECB regional network strategy which includes recruiting volunteers across the UK to become AECB Ambassadors for their regions. You will also organise regular staff meetings and attend Board meetings, as well as representing the AECB at Eco Connect AECB Roadshow events.
You will need excellent diplomatic and communication skills – both written and verbal; media and/or campaign experience; the ability to work as part of a team; experience and understanding of a membership organisation; able to work to tight deadlines and on your own initiative. Although you will be working from home, will need to travel nationally and attend regular face to face meetings with the CEO who is based in Herefordshire.
