Cumbria Local Group Visits Keld Head, Bampton on 23rd May 2013
Extreme Retrofit! AECB member Tracey Hart and her husband John have invited the Cumbria Local Group to visit Keldhead in May. Keldhead is a former rural farmhouse that has been unoccupied and off-grid for almost 50 years. Work commenced on this project in May 2012, the extreme Winter conditions have caused many delays but the move in date is still planned for the Summer! Visit to Low Energy Home in Essex on 23rd May 2013
Stuart Barlow, leader of the Hertfordshire Local Group, has organised for members to visit Porters project in Felsted, Essex on Thursday 23rd May. The hosts for this event will be AECB members Touchwood Homes, a family run company who were the Builders and Structural Engineer for this project. Join Hampshire Group for an “Identikit Eco Home” Open Forum
If you were to build your ideal Eco Home what form would it take. The Hampshire Group is having the first of several meetings entitled “Identikit Eco Home”. This idea idea is the brainchild of AECB member Danny Lee and aims to establish what the members consider to be the best solutions for a sustainable home in Hampshire. “Why are Steiner Academy Energy Costs So High?” – Talk by Alan Clarke and Nick Grant

North East Group “Steel Farm: Addressing the challenges in construction” 6th June 2013
Mark Siddall, the Group Leader for the North East, has organised an event for the North East Group on 6th June 2013 (previously planned for 4th April). Bristol Group Events for 2013
The next Bristol Group event will take place in June, details to follow – DATE TO BE CONFIRMED. As part of the Bristol Group’s programme of events to keep members in touch with each other Rose Furnival has organised regular informal meetings. These are aimed at sharing information on the exciting projects underway in the area, discussing and evaluating materials/products and providing networking opportunities for members. Cornwall Group Visit to New Terrace House Built to Passivhaus Standards
A site visit has been planned for the Cornwall Local Group to the house of architect Joan Kinnane. This timber frame new build is a mid-terrace property, built whilst supporting the other two houses. The house was built to passivhaus standards and Joan has been monitoring the temperature within the building and has some interesting findings to share with the Group. Local Group Visit to Coop Headquarters in Manchester
The Group Leader of the Cheshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire Group has organised a site visit to the new Coop Headquarters in Manchester. This building has recently achieved one of the highest BREEAM design stage ratings in the UK and this will be a great opportunity for AECB members to take a look at this building for themselves.
