I do have close to a meter (36") of loose fill insulation in my attic, the house was built in 1978 by others and the original ceiling insulation was 12" fiberglass batts, R-38. When the time came to airseal the house and upgrade insulation levels the attic was one area where I could affordably superinsulate. I would be happy to share the upgrade cost numbers and energy saved if anyone is interested.

Good conference, shame we could not all get to all the passivhaus sessions, maybe add another day to take it into Saturday and do some repeats. Being honest I would have expected this kind of organisation to have its conference at a weekend with maybe a Friday on the front.  A rather poor selection of presentations available currently for download, I found one I was interested in simply by googling the presenter and subject.

Some of the presentations from this year's conference are now available to view (see www.aecb.net/conference2009.php). Happy reading! Kate de S, web editor.
