New CarbonLite course – Delivering Airtight Buildings
The airtightness workshops at the AECB conference were justly popular, and now there is a chance truly to get to grips with this crucial issue in an all-new course devised for CarbonLite by Peter Warm and Paul Jennings. As an air-tester, Paul knows better than anyone where airtightness goes wrong, and has helped numerous project teams develop successful strategies to get it  right. Paul will be teaching the course.

This one-day course for is aimed at all building professionals involved in the design and delivery of airtight buildings for Passivhaus and other low energy designs. Delegates  will:
•   Appreciate the history and context of airtight construction in the UK;
•   Understand the 12 step approach for the delivery of airtight buildings and how an Air Barrier Strategy is developed and delivered;
•   Review test equipment options, discuss leakage sites and the management of the sealing works, experience checking for leaks by hand and with smoke.

The first opportunity to attend this course will be in Plymouth on Monday 29th November. The price of this course is £249 for AECB members 249, £299 for Non members (prices ex VAT).

To book, please go to the CarbonLite courses area of www.aecb.net, at http://www.carbonlite.org.uk/carbonlite/courses.php.

See this link too, for opportunities to learn about PHPP and thermal bridging, one- and two-day courses in London (15th-18th November) and Bristol (22nd-25th November). Note some of the London and Bristol courses attract a very generous (£200-a-day) subsidy from the South East England Development Agency, for some delegates based in the South-East – please contact Helen Tippett (Helen@peterwarm.co.uk) or Sally Hall (sally@aecb.net) for more information.
