Wind Driven Heat Recovery
« on: December 05, 2007, 10:27:49 AM »
Does anyone know of such a system, other than the Zedfactory wind cowl? For a 10 x 4 bed development on site now.

Many thanks

I had heard that Passivent are planning to release something soon, but I was told by the rep. that there is much uncertainty as to its consistent performance and this may prevent it being released.

If you do follow this up please post it.

You could try Monodraught http://www.monodraught.com/windcatcher/index.php. (We used some of there kit on a school the other year.) Not sure how they price up though.

I do wonder how well these mixed mode systems could bed into a PH MVHR system? Would be great to avoid parasitic loads from MEV systems in bathrooms/kitchens during in the summer.

(An AECB member, based up here in the north east, suggested that in the summer you could have a passive stack with a bung that would be removed during the summer. I was a little concerned about the bung being lost...)
