MVHR & Biomass & Solar panel combo, poss wind turbine
« on: December 16, 2009, 01:11:22 PM »
Im attempting to make a zero carbon (0.1 w/m2k) studio of 20 sqm (4x5m).  There is also an existing 600 mm house pitched with slate.

Can MHVR & Solar panels & Biomass all go together in the existing and new???  Im also thinking of using a wind turbine so would that mean I can get rid of the solar panels and go for a green roof on the studio???

If wood pellets are burned, this releases carbon so.....??  Is there an alternative?  Anyone know how many solar panels I need.

MHVR transfers a portion of the heat in the exhaust air into the supply air. In winter, the air coming in will be less than the air going out, therefore addiitonal heating will be required. A wood stove with the PV sized for the electrical consumption would probably see you close to zero carbon.

thanks nathan, ive modified my text somewhat and added in some extra querys.  ive added a rough plan also.  Where can these items go?  Looking tight isnt it.

Can a biomass boiler flu through a concrete 600mm wall?

thanks
