Dear All

We are pleased to announce the venue for our first meeting at 6.00 p.m. on 28th January.

Trevor Haynes, Head of Building Control at Birmingham City Council – and longstanding AECB member – has invited the group to meet at the Council Offices:

Birmingham City Council, Building and Consultancy Services,
3rd Floor, 1 Lancaster Circus, Queensway, Birmingham

There are several experienced and knowledgable members (and Trustees) coming along - so it promises to be an interesting meeting.  Please let me know if you would like to join us.

Nidhi
Birmingham Local Group

NB The postcode for those using satnav is B4 7DJ.   If any members require a car parking space, please let us know as soon as possible, including name and car registration number.  Parking spaces are very limited so there are no guarantees.

The first group meeting in Birmingham will be in the evening of 28th - venue to be announced.

If you have not yet received your invitation from the Group Leader, Nidhi, please post your interest here for details of this and future meetings.

Regards

Debbie Mauger and Jo Saady

PS A word of warning, some AECB Trustees will be there so discussions could get a little passionate!  This will not be for the faint-hearted.

Hi Nidhi

Great to hear that you have a venue for the meeting on 28th.

It sounds as if it is going to be an interesting event. I am sorry that I wont be able to be there.

I am not sure the Trustees can be described as lambs but maybe we can take a vote on it after the Birmingham Group meeting!  Please post your comments here (on the Forum) - and if not lambs, please let us know which animal you think most describes them.

For those of you lucky enough to be attending this meeting, it starts at 6.00 p.m. but Nidhi, the Group Leader, will be there from 5.30 - so feel free to make your way there and introduce yourself.

PS Dont forget that parking is limited so let Nidhi know in advance if you are wanting a space.

Thanks David and Ian for letting me know. I have added you both.

And being one myself I am really looking forward to meeting all the 'Lambs' now!  ;)

The reports are that the meeting was a great success (and that the Trustees were very well behaved!).

I believe there are lots more ideas and exciting opportunities for future events and look forward to being able to attend one soon.

Great to hear that the meeting went well, and that the Trustees behaved.  Not really sure about them being like lambs: the experience of chairing them is more akin to herding cats!  Sorry I couldn't make the meeting.

All the best
