Magdala is a late arts and crafts movement house. A 70% saving in space heating energy demand, is targeted through improved insulation and airtightness, introduction of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) and window improvements.
The Steading was built in the 1990’s. It is a story and three quarters, four-bedroom, terraced house.
Proposed measures include the improvement of wall insulation and airtightness, replacement of the hot water and space heating system, replacement of the existing windows and installation of mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR).
Pulse is a portable compressed air-based system that is used to measure the air leakage of a building or enclosure at a near ambient pressure level of 4Pa. This method is approved by Scottish Building Standards technical handbook Section 6, CIBSE TM23, Part L1A Building Regulations for England and Wales and PAS 2035 retrofit guidelines.
Leak Checker Diagnostic Fan completes the system providing everything required to carry out air leakage diagnostics and identify unwanted air leakage paths.
