Through our associated business, Corner Point Surveys Ltd (www.cornerpointsurveys.com) we are able to offer topographical surveys, setting out services and 3D elevation scans using state of the art Trimble surveying equipment.

Hydrogen Car Refuelling Station, Abergavenny, for River Simple

QuadConsult Limited provided Civil and Structural engineering design services for Riversimple’s first commercial refuelling site for hydrogen powered cars. Riversimple, an independent manufacturer of hydrogen electric vehicles, is based in Wales and was set up to eliminate the environmental impact of personal transport. They sited their station in Abergavenny, and QuadConsult Limited co-ordinated and delivered the Civil design which included the ground slab and a prominent blast-resistant wall which acts as a barrier between the public and the stored hydrogen.
In keeping with Riversimple’s sustainable ethos, QuadConsult Limited introduced them to a manufacturer of an innovative supplementary cementitious material (Banah Cement) which greatly reduces the amount of carbon dioxide produced per square metre of concrete.

Tremorfa Food Waste Anaerobic Digestion Plant, Cardiff

QuadConsult Limited was engaged by Encon Construction Ltd to design a biomass generator in Tremorfa, Cardiff. Tremorfa Food Waste Anaerobic Digestion Plant now receives all of Cardiff’s food waste, and is generating power for the city.
The Plant was named ‘Project of the Year 2017 – Civils’ by Constructing Excellence in Wales in July 2017, one of the annual awards given by CEW to celebrate the effect and influence of collaborative working, integrated teams and best practice. Encon Construction Ltd and its team beat very stiff competition, and almost 600 members of the Welsh construction community applauded the achievement at the awards dinner in Cardiff.

Low Energy Home, Dinas Powys

The Vale of Glamorgan Planning Department described this new dwelling designed by Gillard Associates as an exemplary sustainable development proposal. The elegant building makes the most of excellent south-facing views with generous open-plan spaces linking right through the building towards floor-to-ceiling glass doors that frame the rolling countryside beyond. Designed for a couple approaching retirement this house provides luxury and comfort in a robust dwelling based on high quality construction, materials and sustainable technologies.
The steeply sloping site and the relatively large plan area of the building required careful handling of the substructure solutions, and the design inputs included detailed considerations to assist the architect to deliver a Code 4 home.
