New house in the Scottish Borders built amongst the trees with Tata steel profiled roof and Russwood scotlarch cladding

First hut to be built under the new Scottish planning policy to allow recreational huts in the countryside. The post and beam frame sits lightly on the ground and is clad with larch boarding. Insulated with sheets wool and heated by a hobbit stove and with LED lights fed from a pv panel the hut is very comfortable

The first hut of 15 in this development in Falkland the mono pitch design is fronted by a covered deck with windows placed to optimise views and solar gain. Maximum use has been made of Larch felled and sawn on the Falkland Estate
