AECB Gloucestershire Group – Iles Green cottage site visit
February 22 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Iles Green cottage is an unoccupied semi detached ex-farm house, probably built in late 1700’s and has a floor area 74.5m2 including the more recent 60’s extension. It had stone mullion single glazed windows looking south over the valley towards Aston Down airfield. External wall insulation has been added, new windows, PVT panels and the solid ground floor has been replaced, the new one includes under floor heating pipes. There is also a Waterkotte heat pump getting source heat from the PVT panels and 500 litre Consolar thermal store. The tour starts at 11am and will be with Ollie from the Greenshop.
Directions: From Bisley, drive towards Eastcombe and take the left turning to Oakridge along Holloway Rd, then turn left at the crossroads mark for Far Oakridge and Water Lane. Keep on that road until you enter Far Oakridge, then at the four way junction take the first right. Parking will be on the grass verge on the right hand side of the road by the barn. Iles Green Cottage is at the end of the first drive on the right.
