Gloucestershire Group – Coombe Cottage Retrofit Site Visit
January 18 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
This visit is on a weekend to make it possible to see it in daylight. It has external woodfibre insulation, triple glazing, PV that gives spare capacity to heat hot water, and an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP). The main cottage dates from 1800s. Doors and windows are triple glazed. Work on the exterior is finished but ongoing on the interior.
From Stroud head towards Kings Stanley via Selsley. In Middleyard Coombe Lane is on the left as you are entering the village, the name “Coombe Lane” is facing you if accessing from the Selsley direction. The entrance to the lane is easy to miss, it is next to a Cotswold stone house with it’s gable to the road and a sign “Rosebank Cottage” on the gable. Follow Coombe Lane bearing round to the left, NOT straight on to the right of the field gate! The house is at the very end of this very muddy lane, about 200 yards. There is room for 3 or 4 cars in the drive, with more parking on the main road (Broad Street)
