More information about Rural Heat . . . .
“Rural Heat was set up three years ago by the Sangster family to promote the use of biomass within the south of England. The Manton Estate was to be used as a showcase, with biomass boilers installed so that potential customers can come and see them in a live environment. The Estate has a 100kw boiler that runs on locally produced woodchip, a 240 kw boiler that runs on pellets and a 27kw boiler is being installed week commencing 4th March to heat the Shooting Lodge (where the event will be held). We also installed a drying floor specifically designed to dry woodchip for biomass boilers.
Andy Owens spent 20 years with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers before his four years in biomass.”

- Windwash – reducing the effective U value of roofs. How can it be reduced/prevented?
- Designing out cold-bridging / providing foolproof details that builders can understand.
- Links between sustainable construction and sustainable ways of working (including networking with other like minded practices and specialists). Low impact working is quite an important topic.
