July 31, 2012 @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm
The London Group visit to a SIPs house under construction in Camberwell SE5 was oversubscribed and so another visit is planned for 31st. Unfortunately, this second event has also already been booked up.
At the RDA Architects Mews House project in South London, the windows are currently being installed and the second airtightness test is due in the next month. To find out more see: http://www.rdauk.com/case-studies/residential/stories-mews-2/

About the project (from RDA Architects’ website)
A modern town house with artist’s studio, replacing the garage to the rear of the client’s existing house. The floor plan offers the utmost flexibility so that the studio can be completely annexed from the living areas if the artist-client decides to let the house.
Stringent guidelines from local planners demanded a ‘showpiece façade’ but without an imposing mass. RDA has provided drama with sliding wooden shutters hung from an exposed steel beam that spans the frontage, and used glass blocks for smaller areas of interest. The house is designed to be highly energy efficient and aims to acheive Passivhaus standards.
