The Site is located to the south of Halstead, lying approximately 11.2km (7 miles) north of Braintree and 21.5 km (13 miles) west of Colchester and only 25 miles from Stansted Airport.

The site is separated from Mount Hill by a wide grassed verge, a slight embankment and a line of semi-mature hedgerow interspersed with trees.
