we have a 15acre broadleaf woodland in central scotland, slight north facing slope, several small burns(streams). we plan a small (subject to consent) development of eco holiday homes, within a forest garden (long term). buildings will be as non toxic as possible. currently no services (£10K elec quote). we think mains power, albeit minimal use, will be necessary to provide level of comfort and security of supply. does anyone have experience of digging 1metre ditch through woods(say 50metres). also we want buildings to feel separate, yet energy efficiency is then compromised. does anyone know of other developments anywhere in the world that may suggest solutions? any thoughts appreciated.
On mini-digger front, don't bother with anything smaller than 3T, 5T better…
