Where should I go for a) advice/articles and b) forum-type discussion about home-made solar panels – both water-filled and warm-air producing? Thinking of large vertical ones that would be built up in situ as part of the building's facade/cladding. For low-elevation SE morning sun collection Oct-Dec-April. For the water-filled alternative, return temp typically 20C, flow temp as low as 21C, typically 25C or as hot as it likes when blasted. So fundamental efficiency due to low flow temp requirement plus good orientation can be traded against large cheap area and less-than-optimum internal efficiency.

Any one here knowledgeable or experienced? Or comments/ideas/leads?

This would I think be called 'solar panelling' which is an ignorant term that politicians use to display the fact that they can't tell a heat pump from a jacuzzi.

Mod, please relocate this if nec – doesn't seem to fit in Building Services as defined.
