Tagged: insulation, internal, lime, render
I’m looking into using a wood fibre insulation on the inside of an existing 3-course thick solid brick wall but the existing walls are already rendered 25-30mm think and painted. The building has been used for over ten years and would not have been repainted for some time before that.
Is there any way I can test/assess the render/paint to confirm whether it is lime based (i.e. breathable) or would removing it be the best solution?
Many thanks,
