I am a final year student interested in finding some steel frame (not light gauge) details for passivhaus/gold/silver standard. My project is a 6 storey apartment building with timber and zinc panel cladding. Any help/advice/guidance would be much appreciated.
I'd guess the main issue would be to keep the steel inside the thermal envelope to reduce airtightness and thermal bridge problems. Light gauge steel frames have been used for Passivhaus in Czech Republic and perhaps Spain I think. Block between steels is an airtightness issue.
How about sketching up some details and posting for comment?
