If a new build extension is as big as the existing house and is to be built to PH standards (and the existing refurbed to quite good standards) how do you tackle it from a PHPP perspective – if there is a seperating link between the two (although still part of same dwelling)?
1 PHPP for the whole thing?
If certification was relevant would you be looking at Enerphit – even though new build element doubles size of existing??
Thanks in advance – sure there' someone here who can clear this up for me!
Hi Mike
What do you mean by separating link? Sounds like 2 buildings? If joined then model as one.
Nick
Rather than guessing I suggest asking the certifier. Nothing to stop retrofit being certified as new build just harder to achieve. Should all be a lot clearer once you model it.
