Who are we and what do we do?

What are the challenges you’re facing on your project? What are the best techniques you can use to address them? Where do you go for advice on designing and building a low energy home?

It doesn’t matter whether you are a construction professional, a tradesperson, a self-builder, DIYer or a homeowner, if you’re interested in sustainable design and construction the AECB North East group meet-ups give you the chance to discuss the best sustainable design and construction practices.

When we get together for an informal meet-up we can help each other, and you are more than welcome to take part, ask questions and benefit from the best advice we can offer.

 When do we meet?

Meetings are ad hoc so make sure you get on our mailing list and we’ll keep you posted about when and where we are holding the next event.

 Meet the group leaders:

Mark Siddall ArchitectHi, I’m Mark Siddall. Whether it’s new build or renovation I’m an architect with a passion for evidence-based design that predictably creates sustainable homes that offer contentment, convenience and control. As a Trustee of the AEBC, a Technical Advisor to the Passivhaus Trust and a Certified Passivhaus Consultant I love nothing more than hatching plans that will make the north east a leader in sustainable design.

…and he’s Phil Newbold.  Phil is a highly experienced architectural technologist. With his hands-on experience he understands better than many just how challenging it can be to design and build sustainable low energy houses. He is also a Certified Passivhaus Consultant who has self-built his own non-certified passive house/office, the only Band A home in Co Durham. He also specialises in Accessible Design for people with disabilities.
