Number 10 welcomes Cornish Eco design company

Perranporth based wildlife company and AECB members Green&Blue are still celebrating after spending the day at Number 10 Downing Street last week.

Having been hand picked as a Small Business 100, as part of the Small Business Saturday campaign, Green&Blue were invited to spend an afternoon with ministers and other influential people at the famous address.

Faye Clifton, sales and marketing manager at Green&Blue, took some of the company’s award winning bee bricks and display panels around the companies’ use of a waste material from the Cornish China clay industry in their products.

To have the opportunity to step inside that famous door and talk to ministers about bee brick is just unbelievable,” said Faye. “Coming on the back of our visit from Michael Gove earlier this year it feels like we’re being heard by the right people as we try to raise the profile of solitary bees and campaign for bee bricks to adopted as common practice in construction

Stephen Barclay MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury, said of the event: “It’s great to welcome business owners to Number 10 today to show our appreciation for the crucial contribution they make to Britain. Small businesses are vital to a thriving and competitive economy that is fit for the future, so it’s great to see that the number of small businesses in the UK has been growing in recent years. We hope the country will join us in championing the UK’s small businesses, and support them this Christmas.”

Small Business Saturday is a nationwide campaign to support, inspire and promote the UK’s 5.7 million small businesses, like Green&Blue. After the event the Number10 twitter account tweeted a short film in celebration of the event and featuring Faye from Green&Blue.

Faye also features in this short video from Number 10.
